David Wilkening reports an idea under consideration that just might help curb what medical professionals refer to as a growing obesity problem. People would estimate their weight when they buy an airline ticket and then weigh in at the airport and pay their fare based on weight, similar to the way freight is priced. Farfetched? Maybe not so much. It may be the only way “around” [so to speak] the problem of people taking up more than one seat per ticket. Now if only they could figure a way to charge more for screaming babies, people who talk loud on their cell phones…
